I was curious how you do the mood avatars in the back SQL stuff.

I have my own ideas, but I figure seeing how someone else does it can't hurt.

Ah, well, I just have a table that gets a new row inserted every time a url for an avatar is added in. So each row has their unique id, the url to the image, and a value linking back to a user's id (foreign key!). I had a "one to many" approach with this.

Sounds like how I was going to do it (though obviously FOREIGN KEY can't be used because the database isn't InnoDB).

I don't know why I was concerned with performance issues. I think I forgot that the method I was going to use to fetch them was the same for layouts

Well, I didn't exactly use the foreign key attribute. It's just doing what a foreign key does (except for that whole cascading thing when you delete something)

I suppose I should have been worrying about performance, but I was worried that kind of research would take up too much time. I'll get around to making sure, one of these days.

Also, it was a lot simpler to do that instead of the urls into one text field, separated by some delimiter.
